Aubergine

Superb home grown aubergines. When slow cooked they turn beautifully gooey and take on so much flavour. Great in rich tomato based sauces. Please note, we are currently growing two varieties. The typical big glossy black variety we're all familiar with, and a smaller Hungarian variety. The smaller Hungarian is more of a lilac- green in colour, with less shine, but what it doesn't have in aesthetics it makes up for in taste, with a superb texture. Just be wary of its top, they can have a few sneaky thorns.
