Basil

Sweet Grenovese a delicious sweet traditional Italian variety which doesn't go bitter when cooked. Excellent for pesto, salads, continental dishes. Hard to beat the delicious summer sandwich of cheese tomato and basil. Basil grown in the soil and allowed to mature has more volatile oils and flavonoids, well I haven't checked that, it is the smell, flavour and thick waxy leaves that tell their own story.
